DESCRIPTION

HOPE. This game prototype was seeking a new type of gameplay which was different from the traditional action and role-play game. The player wasn’t playing as a hero to fight with the enemy, and the player will take a role as a monster.  The player needs to eat the human to strengthen them and survive from the attack by the human.

GAMEPLAY

Technical Design

For creating a monster which can “eat” the human, I design the tentacle for the player. The player can use the tentacle to drag the human into the monster’s body which means “eat” them. To complete this idea, I use  “grapple” system to design the tentacle. When the player shoots a tentacle to the human, it will create a “grapple” which is the tentacle between the monster and human. Then this “grapple” will create a force to the human and drag them into the monster. 

HOPE - 3D Version

DEVELOPMENT

After I playtest this type of gameplay mechanism which is play as a monster and use a tentacle to “eat” the humans, I receive many positive responses. It proved that this mechanism works for the player, then I designed a 3D version from this prototype. Those are some 3D models I made for the 3D version.
